Global stainless steel output up 4.6 percent in 2023

In the fourth quarter last year, world stainless crude steel output decreased by 2.2 percent quater on quarter to 14.77 million mt, while increasing by 6.6 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to the preliminary report released by the international stainless steel Forum. Meanwhile, in 2023 world stainless crude steel output rose by 4.6percent yaer on year, amounting to 58.44 million mt.

 

According to the ISSF data, in 2023 stainless crude steel production increased by 12.6 pecent in China and moved down by 7.2 percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, while decreasing by 9.6 percent in the US and down by 6.2 percent in Europe, all compared to 2022.
