Turkey launches AD investigation on CR stainless flat steel from China,Indonesia
2024-07-05
According to a statement published in the country’s Official Gazette, Turkey has launched an anti dumping investigation on cold rolled stainless steel flat steel from China and Indonesia. The investigation covers the period between January 1, 2021, and December 31,2024.

The investigation was started upon the application made by the Turkish steel producer POSCO Assan TST. Haluk Kayabasi, CEO of Turkey based Kibar Holding, stated that POSCO Assan TST can meet local demand, though it has no chance of competing unless company-based anti dumping duties are implemented against low-quality and dumped Asian stainless steel imports, especially from China, Indonesia and Taiwan.

In the light of the evidence submitted during the application period and the findings presented based on the data in the trade ministry’s database on imports, it has been determined that allegedly dumped cold rolled stainless steel from China and Indonesia caused financial damage in the domestic market.

In 2023, Turkey imported 40,223 mt of cold rolled stainless steel flat steel from China, resulting in China becoming the country’s largest supplier of the given product.
